How Did Alpha Come About

Alpha began in a small church in London in 1977 as an informal space to explore questions about life and faith.

Over time, it grew into a global movement, running in churches, cafés, homes, universities, and workplaces across the world.

Today, Alpha is helping millions of people start meaningful conversations about life, faith, and purpose — in over 100 countries and in more than 100 languages.
